Blanca Florido

Blanca appeared in dozens of stage plays and operas in Florida before moving to California. Among her favorite roles are The Witch in "Into the Woods,"

Maria in "West Side Story,"

Lady Grace in "Something's Afoot,"

the Grand Duchess in "You Can't Take it with You,"

and the Wicked Witch in the children's theatre version of "The Wizard of Oz."

She is also active in voiceover where she specializes in evil characters and will be heard as Irene Adler in the radio drama group One Act Players upcoming production of "Scandal in Bohemia." She is also producing (surprise) a cartoon. Her favorite memory is working with George Abbott as Elizabeth in his last production, "Frankie."

Roles for the One Act Players audio theatre productions have included the narrator in The Emperor's New Clothes and Helen in The Horla. A personal favorite, although , she did not participate in the production, is One Act Player's really masterful re-creation of the old-time radio serial adventure, "Flash Gordon" (Episode I). She highly recommends a listen!

Opera roles have included Adele in "Die Fledermaus," Musetta in "La Bohème," and Amahl in "Amahl and the Night Visitors."
